POP Home Switch
Simple smart home control for the whole
Logitech has released its
customisable Pop Switch solution that can be paired with all manner of smart
home devices to offer quick access to functionality.
First announced in August, users can program the Pop
Switches to carry out a trio of of smart home pre-sets with a single press,
without having to mess around with smartphone apps.
For example, users could set a recipe that would dim Philips
Hue smart lights, turn on the television via a Logitech Harmony Remote and even
close smart blinds in preparation for a movie night.
Given the coolness of such an act, this would doubtless lead
to bonus sexy time also.
The POP Switch can also trigger Sonos playlists at a pre-set
volume or lock/unlock the August Lock.
Different pre-sets can be accessed with one press, two
presses and a press and hold through the companion Pop app.
It is already compatible with products from a
number of the biggest names in smart home tech. Devices from Philips Hue, LIFX,
August, Sonos, Harmony, Lutron, Insteon and Belkin WeMo will work out of the
box.
The three switches also ship with a Bridge in a
starter pack that costs $119. Additional add-on switches are £34. Battery life
won’t be a problem as the switches will last for five years with typical
household use.
Given the amount of faffing about with
smartphone apps that performing one task sometimes takes, we’re intrigued by
the possibilities unlocked by the Pop Switch.
Who’d have thunk it? The humble wall switch
might have been the answer all along.
Today smart home devices are in demand and is very useful. I agree that these devices help to make life more safer and comfortable.
